The Opportunity
SC in Bangladesh has been awarded funding from Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) for implementing ‘People’s Adaptation Plans for Inclusive Climate Smart Cities’ Project for 1 year. This project will engage 03 Project Officer – CCA (in Feni, Laksham and Mirersarai) to ensure the successful implementation of this project and quality result of the agreed deliverables. The Project Officer – CCA position will be responsible for providing technical assistance to the implementing partner teams for the effective implementation of planned activities at field level under the project. He/she will guide the implementing partners to identify appropriate interventions and implementation methodologies for the project and assist the Coordinator – Implementation and monitor project activities in the efficient programme delivery to the target communities. The Project Officer – CCA will collaborate with local CBOs, local government and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the project. The position will require to have working knowledge on climate smart cities and community-based planning process.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 4 years of work experience on community resilience programme.
- Proven experience of working with implementing partners and government stakeholders is essential.
- Significant experience of community and youth engagement in resilience components is required.
- Capacity to coordinate and collaborate effectively with national government counterparts and local government bodies.
- Experience with SC resilience programme will be preferred.
- Sound knowledge on Bangladesh climate change in urban context, community engagement tools, and resilience programme context of Bangladesh.
- Excellent skills in program planning, coordinating, representing, partnership management and staff management.
- Appropriate computer proficiency in MS office specially in excel and power point.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably to Master’s Degree) in Social Science, preferably in Development Studies/ Disaster Management/Climate Change or relevant discipline.
