iDE Bangladesh is seeking an Officer Information Technology (O-IT) whose primary responsibility would be to ensure overall management, supervision and maintenance of IT systems and related functions of iDE Bangladesh. This position will be responsible for installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults and solving technical and applications problems, in close coordination with technical service providers in the country (vendors) as well as technical support from iDE Global Headquarters.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

The key responsibilities of the Officer -IT will include the following:


Network Administration Service
Provide technical support to ensure smooth operations of all Cloud based applications and software used by the organization;
Maintain the entire IT infrastructure including servers, Virtual machines, workstations, networking switches, wireless devices, routers and firewalls, network attached storage (NAS), LAN and other IT resources;
Maintain regular data backup & disaster recovery process and manage crisis situations which may involve complex technical issues on hardware or software;
Technical Support and Capacity BuildingDevelop a system to receive complaints (telephone, e-mail, delegation, monitoring tools, visit),  diagnose issues and dispatch solutions across the organization using internal and external (vendor) resources; ;
Provide technical support and trouble-shooting for installed servers, including implementation of HR software and ERP;
Install and configure servers and workstations as and when required;
Provide relevant information about the system to enable resource access;
Guide users systematically to manage troubleshoot systems and offering immediate and alternative solution to issues;
Empower users by sending system tips and guidance instructions;
Regular evaluation of current computer hardware/software in order to provide a timely replacement schedule or upgrade;
System & Information SecurityMaintain system and network security to protect against unauthorized access and keep the existing system up to date;
Set up and maintain all internet and Microsoft Exchange Email accounts and server configurations.
Provide support in setting up the infrastructure for virtualization and private cloud basics;
Administer E-policy, antivirus and client update and configuration;
Design and develop simple guidelines of internal resource for external access like in google, safari, outlook anywhere & web access;
Patch application with current security updates;
Test and configure all new equipment, particularly notebooks, desktops and servers to ensure compatibility with iDE HQ requirements and standards
Inventory management & MaintenanceMaintain and update all inventory related to software and hardware assets of the organization;
Lead equipment preventive maintenance initiatives and carry out a regular evaluation of current hardware/software in order to provide a timely replacement schedule or upgrade;
Coordinate the production of technical instruction materials for technical and user support and ensure the documentations are kept up to date;

Skills and Experience

Candidates are expected to have the following qualification, skills and experience, and to be comfortable with the following conditions.

EducationBachelor’s/Master’s degree in IT or related field.
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
Networking certifications e.g. CISCO certifications
Virtual Systems Certifications
Work ExperienceAt least 3 years of professional experience
Knowledge and experience in management and configuration of Office 365
Systems Administration and Management;
LAN and WAN management;
Working knowledge of System Administration of Windows, Mac and Linux platforms.
Hardware and software integration and maintenance;
Knowledge on ICT vulnerabilities, anti-hacking, IT safeguarding, etc.
ERP configurations and Administrations;
Excellent technical knowledge of computer applications and systems; and
Exposure to diverse-multicultural environments..
Personal SkillsAble to set priorities and multi-task while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines;
Excellent communications skills, including during tough negotiations and in light of staff adjustment to adhere to new policies and procedures;
Physical ability and mindsetPersonal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of iDE;
Ability to thrive as part of a team with diverse experience, expertise, skills and objectives; and
Ability to stand firm on essential accounting and fiscal compliance and documentation needs;
